SUBSCRIBERS of Tickled
by Thunder may send submissions via online
form.
Caters to beginning/intermediate
writers of fiction, poetry and articles ... published quarterly
for 1000 readers. Subscribers enter NINE CONTESTS
FREE every year (or every four issues)! Plus enter
36 contests for free online (new since January, 2003)!
We pay our writers a small fee for first publication rights.
Our magazine is copyrighted but all rights revert to our authors
on publication -- no exceptions!
Please note that ONLY SUBSCRIBERS of Tickled by Thunder
may send submissions by email via online
form. When you take into consideration the savings in stamps
that result from online submissions, it only makes sense to
subscribe
to Tickled by Thunder now.
We want writing that tears itself from the page and demands
to be read. 'Religious' fiction and poetry is welcome, but
must stand on its own, not using its genre as a crutch. Keep
in mind that Tickled by Thunder is for beginning/intermediate
writers. Study back issues for style and content samples.
We are happy to answer queries about writing, just drop us
a note.
All email submissions (subscribers only) MUST be sent
using our online
form!
Use these guidelines for all "snail mail" contributions:
- Use 8.5" x 11" white paper preferably with 1"
margins
- Type double-spaced, unless poetry, and follow requested
word lengths
- Use new ribbon, photo-copies or dot matrix acceptable if
dark.
- Have full address on all correspondence and submissions,
and always include Self-Addressed and Stamped Envelope (SASE)
with any correspondence. If you don't have Canadian postage,
include a dollar for the stamp or use an International Reply
Coupon (IRC). Alternatively, you can purchase Canadian
(or U.S.) postage from us.
- Include cover letter, photo (optional), brief credits and
whatever else you wish
- If submission is for a contest, indicate which one. Submissions
which do not indicate why they were sent in, will not be entered
in any contests but will be considered for publication as
is usual. Please indicate you are a subscriber and/or include
necessary fees when submitting to a contest.
- It is important when sending manuscripts to any
publisher, that you indicate what it is you are sending, and
what it is you are selling. The publisher needs to know what
you're expecting. For Tickled by Thunder, for example, a poem
could be intended for our amusement, for publication, for
a contest, for us to print out and return suitable for framing,
or occasionally, for a critique! It is a sign of professionalism
to include a quick note indicating why you are contacting
a publisher.
On acceptance, authors may be asked to submit a photo
of themselves, along with a short bio -- both for possible
publication. Please note however that due to the high cost
of writing checks, payment to writers will be made in U.S.
or Canadian stamps (in Canadian funds).
