Tickled by Thunder fiction magazine
Helping Writers Get Published Since 1990

Our readers and those online are always welcome to participate in our magazine and our website by writing Letters to the Editor.

Editorial from TbT #30 . . .

Looking for Work . . .

Unemployed. Looking for work. This is the second time since I started Tickled by Thunder that I’ve been re-structured out of employment. But the magazine continues to limp along wherever life leads me… Sure is nice to have a hobby to fall back on!

I’ve been catching up on my reading of submissions, and I can’t believe the number of incredible stories I’ve been receiving. It’s getting harder and harder to find good reasons not to publish them. And I can’t possibly publish every good story I receive.

Obviously, same goes for poetry.

Great articles, on the other hand, have not been as plentiful. Oh, I still receive some quality writing, but not near as much as for fiction and poetry. Yes, non-fiction is still the easiest way to break into print!

As for book reviews, I rarely receive these, but am happy to review books/magazines when I receive them.

The new web site is up and should see more of my attention shortly. I hope you’ll drop by and let me know your thoughts and what you’d like to see -- at tickledbythunder.com.

I also have a discussion area on the site where you can form your own community, if you wish. You might want to share markets you’ve discovered, or information about markets. Or just talk back and forth with me, about whatever writing concerns you might have. I do check the discussion area at least weekly!

Speaking of hearing from you, how about some more letters to the editor? I enjoy hearing about your successes. And, on the other hand, it never hurts to let me know when I’ve fallen short of your expectations.

I’ve always wanted Tickled by Thunder to feel more like a community of writers -- probably because of my small town newspaper experiences. But that’s entirely up to you and me and what we want to put into this.
I look forward to hearing from you!

In the meantime, I’ll be jazzing up my resume and my job search techniques and discovering what’s out there for me in the real world!
