FEAR
OF REJECTION . . .
Like
many closet writers, I feel hesitant in opening
myself to someone else's eyes. Undoubtedly, fear
of rejection is a struggle everyone must face one
time or another. However, your recent short note
encouraging me to enter some of TbT's contests
has, unknown to you, opened up a potential literary
floodgate . . .
I do
enjoy receiving TbT. Your effforts in producing
it continue to give encouragement to ones such
as myself . . . Thank you for keeping the small
press alive.

EXTREMELY
RARE THAT AN EDITOR . . .
I was
thrilled to receive your letter regarding a recent
story of mine entitled The Nympth. It
is extremely rare that an editor would take time
to respond personally to one of many thousands
of manuscripts you must receive each year, and
for that consideration I am profoundly grateful.
You restored my faith in the publishing industry,
which I must admit was beginning to appear devoid
of all living spirit. It was just another soulless
industry trying to survive by purveying a product
with little regard that that very product was a
vital element in keeping the soul alive. Your comments
were very encouraging . . .

FLABBERGASTED
. . .
I am
flabbergasted. First I must thank you for your
encouraging and insightful critique on my story, Academia
Nuts. It is rare, almost unheard of for an
editor to go to such lengths. It's usually, yes,
no, or a mimeographed bit of fluff.
