Letters From TbT #24 . . .

EDITOR JOTS DOWN WRONG ADDRESS . . .

I’m writing this to thank you for sending me my copies of the Year’s Best 1998. The finished product looks good both for the fine set-up and the quality of the material of poems. You deserve a sincere thankyou and here is one from me.

The delay is minor especially in view of your surgery and other related problems. I hope you are feeling better now. Sometimes the circumstances are more powerful than the mighty will of a determined person. So don’t feel bad about the unintentional delay.

While I congratulate you for your hard work and the result, I may also mention in passing that while addressing the envelopes somebody wrote a wrong street in my address [Editor's Note: uh, that would be me!]. But the post office did make the right effort to deliver it to me otherwise I would have remained wondering if Mr. Larry Lindner had forgotten about the project. Anyway, all is well that ends well.

You are trying medical treatment and I do hope that is helping you. May I venture a suggestion – try a little prayer. Among the factors contributing to healing power, besides the positive attitude and auto suggestion, a simple faith in prayer is said to work wonders.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health.

PROUD TO BE INCLUDED . . .

Thank you for continuing with the video. It was certainly worth the wait. In my opinion it is very well done… I am proud to be a part of it.

ONWARD AND UPWARD . . .

Just a note to let you know that since my story Don’t Count Your Chickens was published in your magazine in 1997, I have won first prize in Okanagan Life Magazine’s fiction contest and had another story published in their Winter issue. Recently, I also won third prize for poetry in the Poet’s Market poetry contest, and am looking forward to my poem appearing in the Poets Market 2000 edition. Thanks for the encouragement you have provided by allowing me to see my work in print!
