Aurora

mesmerised, we watch
black canvas of northern sky –
a show soon begins
strutting on nights stage,
Aurora Borealis
dances a cancan
like backup singers,
stars pale in comparison
all eyes are on her
standing in the cold
in awe and captivated,
i'm warm with delight
teasing with her charms
as she takes her final bow
aglow with applause
i sigh in wonder
fortunate to have witnessed
nature's true artist
